Falling Awake

"Disappointed" or "disappointing"? Which form of the word to use? I don’t know. Maybe it’s all the same.

Maybe it’s shock instead. That feeling you get when you clock a dazzling 3 minutes 15 seconds for your first round of 2.4km IPPT run, jaw-dropping 7 minutes 20 seconds for the second round, only to come in to a near-miss of 11 minutes 37 seconds for that Silver. Not to mention doing lesser sit-ups than expected, coupled with an inaccurate SMS supposedly sent by an automated system that had me reporting for my test a whole two hours later that what I should have expected. So much for trust.

Maybe it’s weariness instead. Issues arising from your duties bombing you from the left, issues bombing from the right. No complaints, no comments, no consolation.

Maybe it’s really nothing. Right… As if life could ever be uninteresting.

* The title is a reference to the song by Gary Jules.
